The Never Ending Gig Thread!

I was impressed with how you faked the keyboard sound in "Just what i Needed". That was cool.

@Peeker - Prages will have the chummy, chummy group shot dude.

Here are a couple more pics from the mini SoCal get together. I got a chance to meet Mrs. P and Prages really has great gal - they are a super couple. As we sat at the table enjoying AST, three couples to the right of me were enjoying a night out. The guy and the gal closest to me either were either playfully sparring as she almost fell off her chair - I had caught the chair she was heading South. As few minutes later they were throwing a paper airplane as I saw it float past my eyes. All six of them left and boy did they create a mess. Saw a lot of napkins on the ground and from what I heard they spilled beer, they only had one each and didn't even finish them. At first I thought maybe the gal that feel left some extra stuff for the club to clean. I think that they were visitors for Texas as one of the dudes had a Texas flag shirt on, quite loud - plus there request was for a Stevie Ray Vaughn song.

Anyway, for the short period I got a chance to chat with Prages, Phil and Mrs. P and it was as if I had known them for along time. Being online, you get to know people and when you finally meet them, it was as if you knew them for a long time. There are a lot of great Weiner people on the forums and these are three new ones that I got to meet. :thu:

MS, Prages, Mrs. P and Phil

I didn't catch much of that from onstage but it looked like they were having fun...I wish I had more to to hang out with everyone last night...

Big Blue Dump Truck in Enid, OK. That's my buddy Ash playing, gasp, harmonica.

I've spent a bunch of time trying to make things like that work in the trio setting...it's not always successful but that one I come pretty close. I'm usually using a lot more pedals and guitar control changes to manage my sounds and volume than it seems....changing the gain levels on my distortion and overdrive pedals helped last night but made things a little less natural for me since having it all cleaner give you no place to hide :embarrassed:

yeah, how come Phil looks so mean?
Mark, did you yell at him for wrecking stuff in your office?
cuz Paul told him to do that.

:helper:

great pics, all.

one fine day...I'll make my way down there.

That is the same when I used to play INXS - Don't Change and Modern English's - Melt With You. The couple that got up to dance the most kind of cracked me. The guy was swinging the girl so hard I thought either her arm would tear off or she would be flying through the back door -.

I left as I am not used to staying up late anymore. Besides the ride home was great until I got to where the 405 and 22 meet. Apparently the lanes were all merging and the a detour off of the freeway into Los Alamitos. The fucken' freeway was shut down. It took me an hour to go 1 mile, it was insane. However Mark it was nice to catch you in a gig environment versus a teaching class where your focus is just playing. You sounded great and were having fun at the sametime. You got so into it at the end of your set when you began bunny hopping. Thank goodness you don't swing the guitar from right to left otherwise that Suhr would be firewood.

Yeah...you gotta make things happen one way or another in that environment.

Apparently they're working on that...it took me 75 minutes to get to Seal Beach from Orange last week for my gig at Mahe

It is nice to get out and play :)

That band can be fun because of all of the different styles of music that we play and as the night goes on the energy gets higher. Also the crowd has a ton of energy once the dance floor fills in there. It's just a tight space to rock out in :embarrassed:

I totally fucked up "Sweet Child of Mine" towards the end of the night, btw

When the crowd gets into it, the gig is fun. It makes you forget that you are playing the same tunes again and you start to crackup at the crowd as some them start to get really stupid. No worries on SCoM. Most of those people are intoxicated by then anyway.

He needs that as his avatar...he's be the scariest mod ever

I am going to stare at you until you comply. Resistance is Futile....

Probably the best band in Enid. I know, not saying much, but they are good.
They look sharp, have a little swagger, play tight, rhythm section has a killer groove and the guitar player is good. Very smooth. Excellent version of Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and they do some original stuff, too.

I just had to throw some jackass off the stage who wanted to do a backflip on to the dance floor. I really should have let the douche go for it in retrospect,
