The LP mod is a surprise

Handy little video..

Does anyone here do that?
I’ve never heard of it before.

The rest of the mods are simple and cheap, except for the bender.

I’ve done #1 I’ve done both of #2. I’ve never installed a Bender (#3). I had not heard of #4 but it makes sense. I wish I had heard of it before buying a String Butler for my P90 LP.

#1 doesn't work if it's an actual wraparound, but I like it with the trem. Wraparounds have an actual pigtail bridge that solves that. Didn't know about that string tree. Scrunchy I've done. Didn't know about the LP and also wish I knew that before I bought a string butler.

Here’s an OEM wraparound next to the adjustable saddle, pigtail-style wraparound bridge that was installed in it’s place.

You would think somebody would produce a drop in replacement for this type of wraparound with adjustable saddles for perfect intonation. There must not be enough demand. I suppose the adjustable screws get close enough.

That's not what he has in the video though.
True.

He swapped a wraparound bridge for a whammy and a bridge. His replacement bridge with adjustable saddles improves intonation and that whammy upgrades the look of his Firebird. But, I have my doubts the tuning will remain stable if that whammy gets used.

Doesn't a pigtail work there?
I don’t know what you mean. The stock bridge has adjustment screws that will probably get the intonation close.

A straight across pigtail would not fit proper and the angle would cause the string spacing to narrow. You’d probably have to fill OEM holes and drill new post holes to make a straight across pigtail-style wraparound work.

An easy replacement bridge would have to be very specific for this scenario. Apparently, the Gotoh @Flatspotter posted above will work but is not a quick drop-in solution.

Looking at the picture, did that come on the guitar before a whammy was added? Unless the strings wrap around it that won’t stay in place at all.

My wording was a bit backwards. Based on the video, the wraparound was OEM. The whammy and adjustable saddle bridge replaced the wraparound.

You can buy locking studs to fit the lightning bolt, but that's a moot point here. Just saying it would be possible without the wrapping of strings.
