Fatter neck and cheaper than the CVs. Sounds absolutely fantastic.

$299 street.

You can try to argue, but you will be wrong. :embarrassed:.

I can't fault your position one bit. It's clear that Squire has upped their game, and I have take notice too. I picked up a Squire Thinline Walnut body with single coils, and it was really sweet. If I hadn't had my heart set on a Tele Thinline with dual humbuckers, I think I would have snapped it up at $399.

The Classic Vibe's are really nice for the money. I demoed several CV 50's Strat's before I found one that resonated and sounded the best, but none were dogs.

Ah, but the best deal by far was the Vintage Modified Jaguar Special SS at $179.

Good, but the short scale made me feel weird playing it.

NEXT!

Could be, but I would argue that the Hofner club CT I bought earlier this month is the best value out there. Still, the current squire upper end stuff is pretty amazing and hard to beat, especially when we toss out the 'closeout' market. Fender USA and Gibson should send some reps to Asia to figure out how they can make such good guitars for so little money.

I have a CV Squier Tele, paid way less than 300 for it. Next best Tele I've played was a Baja at 4 times the price.
Putting a strat neck on a Tele just for variety's sake?
C'mon. It's like:
Dad, take the wig off and let's go home. Your drunk.

I really wanted to like those, but my Dano feels and sounds better. I'd really like to find a great SS bass for around $500. The MIJ and MIM Mustang offerings seem too pricey for what they are at $750+.

Used? Anyone's guess, depends what you find.

New? The Yamaha Pacifica 112 has been the best value cheap guitar for the money since they first brought it out 20 odd years ago.

I'm sure that's a nice Tele, but the Strat style headstock just looks wrong. Funny how you get used to things being a certain way...

Epiphone Les Paul special I or II. I got the I with p90's. Depending on the model and the sales they go for anywhere from $80 to $150.

Mine only needed a bridge height and truss rod adjustment. Lots of bang for the buck.

I've never played the Dano, just Ibanez Soundgear basses.
Someone here put EMG PJHZ passive pickups in their Squier and said it made a huge difference. I forgot who, though.
