For some reason, this song has been going through my head all day. It's a classic.

The Dark Crystal is getting a sequel. Yes! This move was nightmare inducing...

I read the first 3 pages or so of this. People get so whipped up over such small things. I'm glad I decided not to post any opinions over at HCEG, other that to tell someone that bought a nice guitar. I don't know. Some people like drama in their lives. I have some empathy for Fretts. The moderators have been in the middle of the mess over at HCEG. Maybe he's feeling frustrated and angry.

Afternoon all ..looking forward to the Gibson pics Woody!

Mojo to PK..that's a tough, tough situation. :(

Morning Mos,

Off to the chiropractor shortly.

I still have to see a chiropractor every quarter because of the herniated disc in my neck....that kept me off work for nearly 12 weeks last year ..so I need regular maintenance..getting old :(. What's your injury?

That thread is one huge shit-storm. It's sad to see the lines drawn in the sand over there once 2.0 hit. There are a lot of people over there that are very bitter towards anyone who was outspoken against 2.0

For what it's worth I think Frets is dead wrong in that thread. Putting GFS pickups in that guitar would be facepalm-worthy. Anyways I don't think I'll check in over there anymore. I have too much drama in my life to have E-drama on top of it. It's just ridiculous.

Good Morning Ladies and gents!

Yep, nonsense like in the Doozy pickups thread, makes me sooooo glad I hardly post there anymore. I think that's what has people like Bone Nut/Electric Blues so bent out of shape - that many of us have not only gotten fed up with 2.0, but the drama crappola that has been getting worse over the past several months. In other forums I belong to, the Doozy Pickup thread would have been locked, due to the behavior exhibited. At the very least, some of the thread participants would have been temp banned, due to their behavior. I told people that I would hardly be around any more, and that I was tired of the nonsense I'd been seeing lately (I'm still bugged at how rude some posters were, about Jeff Waters of Annihilator having has own Epiphone Flying V signature model), and was pooh poohed. In some ways the nonsense has gotten worse since 2.0 occurred. Many of us have voted with our feet, and have not gone crawling back like some people expected. I have yet to see a post there by Hecticone (whom I jam with every now and then), since the 2.0 fiasco.

Awesome, awesome player. :thu:...saw him years ago when they opened for Judas Priest, and no-one knew who they were. After around 40 minutes though....we knew ...one of the best metal guitar players I've ever seen live..technically superb and very tasty note choices too..not an everyday combination.

Yuppers! I've been listening to him off and on for over 20 years! I thought it was great that Jeff is still going strong, and had his own signature model. But so many posted comments were in the vein of: "who is this guy? He isn't even that good!"; "what a loser! I can't believe the stupidity of Epiphone giving him a signature model!" It was just plain annoying. I posted in reply, that not everybody is blues, blues-rock, and classic rock deluxe in their musical preferences, and playing style.

That would be a long answer. I see a Chiro every 3 weeks right now. Part of my back problem is hereditary, part of it is that I broke my leg in 4 places in a down hill skiing accident, and my left leg and stance is not straight any more. Also I used to drink a lot, and fell down a few times.

Next time you see Hecticone tell him I am loving my Vox VT30. He just could not seem to accept that I played a Fender SCXD side by side with a VT30, and picked the Vox. I mean he just would not let that go.

Gary's an OK guy. It's just that he loves his Fender amps, and thinks they're the be-all end-all ampwise, for what he does - mildly overdriven (as he calls it) "heavy blues". Gary used to have a Rivera Knucklehead (which he played clean [something you don't buy a Knucklehead for], using dirt boxes for mild overdrive), and he had a Mesa for a short time. He likes the Fender semi-dirty/just on the edge of breakup sound. He spent a long time looking for his present Fender Pro-Reverb amp, and feels his amp search is done. He always pesters me to get a SCXD. Frankly, I'm kind of "meh" about them. He hated my Marshall. He thought the Tech 21 was OK. I think he'll have a cow, when he sees my Randall! Gary is very much in a Chicago blues vein (he used to be a pro drummer 25 plus years ago), who gigs once in a blue moon on guitar, or drums. He's also sat in with a few blues luminaries, like Son Seals.

BTW Woody, my fave indie guitar shop, Cream City/Warp Drive Music, has a couple of the Vox Valve Reactor combos. I tried out the AC15VR yesterday after work. It's pretty good sounding, with a fair amount of chime tone-wise. The distortion's pretty good, in an 80s, JCM800 kind of way - just not as aggressive as my Randall is. So, clean to semi-overdriven I'd say the Vox is better than my Randall. For serious grind - the Randall wins.
