I actually need a few cheapie amps for around here but I'd like them to sound decent and not be to loud. This one fits the bill so far. I need to get my main amp repaired and I'll be happy for gigs again...
 
Marc...deer antler, yeah. It's kinda this light bluish gray color. I may dye it.
Mark...Hi. Sorry, I never answered your ???????? Earlier. This guy at the forum to remain nameless asked if he was crazy to pull the stock pickups out of his Duesenberg in favor of GFS pickups. I said yes, then got dogpiled for being a corksniffer. Me of the $200 guitars. Got berated by frets in public even for being prejudice against cheap gear. The guy has a friggin Deusenberg for crying out loud. We aren't talking about a friggin Classic Vibe strat or something. Sorry. Needed to vent.

The combination of prostrate cancer and emphysema is taking it's toll on him. Walking from his apartment to my car, we had to stop 3 times so he could catch his breath. It took about 15 minutes just to get to and from the car. A few minutes to get down a short flight of stairs. Rest. Take 10 steps out the front door. Rest. Then another 15 or 20 feet to my car. We were able to get him wheelchairs at the doctor's and the hospital.

It's emotionally draining to watch a parent die. It sucks to go to sleep praying that Dad will die painlessly in his sleep. But at this point there is no chance for recovery. So I wish for a quick and relatively painless death for him.

Outside of that, life keeps going. Just had a leftover roast beef sandwich and a beer for dinner. Good stuff. Sometimes the best thing about making a roast is the sandwiches from the leftovers. Thanks cow. You are tasty.

In other news, my new guitar shipped. We'll see if I keep it. Part of me wants to send it back. Part of me hopes that it is a good player. I should know in a few days.

And for the most important news of the day...

You gotta go find it yourself. It's still on the front page. I'm done with it.

Anyway, doing some more filing on these nut slots. The alignment is good.
I'm just filing them down a tiny bit at a time. You can always take more off but you can't put it back.
Right now it looks like a Flintstones cartoon...all blocky. Once I get the slots filed right, I'll purdy it up.

That thread is one huge shit-storm. It's sad to see the lines drawn in the sand over there once 2.0 hit. There are a lot of people over there that are very bitter towards anyone who was outspoken against 2.0

For what it's worth I think Frets is dead wrong in that thread. Putting GFS pickups in that guitar would be facepalm-worthy. Anyways I don't think I'll check in over there anymore. I have too much drama in my life to have E-drama on top of it. It's just ridiculous.
 
PK I understand where you are coming from. My dad has almost died 3 or 4 times in the past few months and is confined to a hospital bed. It's been the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. Mojo and prayers to you and your family.
 
Little Giant. Very cool. There are so many neat amps available right now and many of them are very good.
The nut is progressing. Almost there but I'm quitting for tonight.
