Good morning or good afternoon all. I'm feeling slightly hung over. I only had a shot and a beer last night. Part of it could be allergies too. It's currently 75 and sunny in Chicago.
I've been looking at the St. Blues web site this morning. They are having a
demo model sale. This could be bad for my finances.
Hmmmm, the thinline '61 South demos look pretty intriguing, but I aint's gots the money for one.
'Afternoon Ladies & Gents,
The last couple of days have been very hectic at work. But, things as of now (1 PM) seem to be finally slowing down here. Damon, the body on the Cortocaster is turning out pretty good.
Moi? - I got paid today. So I have the option of paying off my old 7-string that I hocked, and then bought back/put on layaway at Music Go Round:
Or, using the layaway money I put down on the guitar, as credit for a speaker cab for my Killer Ant (I'm 90% for getting back my 7, and just coming up with a 1x12 cab, that' I'd outright buy for it). BTW, thanks for the NAD compliments people!
I also belong to the 7-string and extended range (8-strings or more) guitar forum. A thread about the Chapman Stick, has had me searching online in bits and pieces all morning, for info about these. I've known about them for close to 30 years, but I've never looked into them.
They're basically played by touching/ hammering the the strings with your fingers, on the fretboard. They have both bass and guitar strings on them, and due to the way you play them, don't sound quite like a regular guitar or bass). Depending upon your technique, you can just about do the one man band thing with them, by using one hand to fret bass lines, while the other hand can be used to fret guitar-type lines:
I thought it might be fun to experiment with one - until I saw the cost! New, the basic models go for $2100, and even used, they go for at least $1500!
Nope, it's not happening anytime soon!
