Tele bridge recommandation

Chad

Slender Hobbit
I just ordered another 7/8 tele body. Mastery is sold out of Tele bridges (probably due to covid), my body probably won't arrive for 2 months, so I've got time for them to get back in stock, but I may have to try something else. I love my Callaham strat vibrato, so I'm leaning towards them. Anyone else have a suggestion?

Honestly, I've been more than happy with the Fender '52 RI plates and saddles. They intonate pretty well with D'Addario 10s. Just replace the height screws so they don't bloody your hand and you're set.

Are the saddles compensated?

The Gotoh "In-Tune" bridge on my Kirn is well-made and comes with compensated brass saddles, which feel absolutely smooth under my palm when muting. Best 'traditional' tele bridge I've used...

Allparts sells the Joe Barden bridge, with compensated saddles, for vintage and Am Std mounting options. MSRP is $65, Allparts dealers will probably discount that.

To throw out another option if you want something that has a different look and feel.... Jason Schroeder of Schroeder guitars make a bridge that is fantastic. You'll see one on one of my upcoming builds.

The thick rounded edge makes a very comfortable rest for your picking hand that doesn't happen very often on T-style guitars.

Love the Wilkies for a budget build, and I used a Joe Barden on my 62 build. The Barden has slanted barrels which I like, and they intonate perfectly, though I plan on filing slots to help keep string spacing consistent.

Put the ashtray on and you don't have a screw problem.
True, but you lose a lot of tele twang with the cover on. I love the look, and always start out playing with it on, then eventually want to play something that requires picking over the bridge pickup, so off it goes. Of course there is also the tried and true practice of cutting down the adjustment screws once you have the action set.

I put a Wilkinson WTB on my build. It does the job nicely.
I might upgrade to a Mastery at some point.
