Wannabe
So here on this forum (MWGL) as you all know we have a series of parody thread or "opposite" type threads that we have a little fun with from time to time.
So, after I bought my Tele I joined up at that forum (TDPRI). The other day someone posted a "Name the 5 best guitar players in history" thread. Today I thought it would be a good idea to post a "5 worst/overrated guitar player" thread.
About 2 posts in some crybaby posts about how that type of thread causes a "Flaming war" and shouldn't be posted. A couple of others agreed. I told them to lighten up, it's just for fun. And a few other people agreed with me.
So needless to say, I said fuck this and posted to have the Mods delete the thread before somebody cries. It will probably get me a suspension or banned or something but who gives a fuck. I'd rather hang out here where we have fun, debate shit, learn about stuff because we have different opinions and at the end of the day we al respect one another and our opinions even when we don't agree.

So a big thank you to Mark and everybody here for making this forum as awesome as it is!!

Speaking of overrated Tele players...

And the thread is up to 9 pages in about 24 hours!! There's a decent amount of bitching still going on but most people are having fun with the topic and there's also a decent amount of people that agree with me on this as well....

Well, they are pretty damn clear about their rules right from the start, so you really shouldn't be surprised. It is a great site with lots of information but it isn't the same atmosphere as here that is for sure.

True....overall the response has been pretty good. I had a small spat with one guy but we worked it out and both apologized. Just for the hell of it i posted a thank you to the members thanking them for participating and to the mods for letting us work it out without intervening. Up to 10 pages now! lol
It's certainly a different atmosphere. Now I know that we do our thing here and they do theirs there....that's how I'll keep it from now on.

The rules weren't always like that. I was a member before Paul Green took it over from Noam Pikelny. It was much more of a family kind of place early on and then Paul decided to go well beyond just recouping his costs with it.

I go to TDPRI about every quarter. The forum in general has changed and IMO has gone down is the quality level. It kind of reminds me of HC when I first joined forums outside of Wholenote.com. I went to HC because the bass player in my Rush tribute was a member there. Even though I signed up at HC, I was not into it. Too much flaming wars and very highly opinionated as well as childish banter. My post count on HC was about 30. I joined MWGL not soon after when my son was involved in classes with Premier Music. Since then this has been the one I visit frequently.
