Stood up again.

One of the services I provide is Anger Assessments for those who are court-ordered for assessment. Saturday morning I was scheduled to do one of these; the person was a no-show. I had another scheduled for this morning; also a no-show.

I'm getting pissed off.

Seriously, that is $60 per assessment lost; my charge is much lower than the average. The court actually suggested that I charge more, but I try to keep it affordable.

I very much considered your line of work when I was in college. I think that I would have enjoyed the profession, but after this kind of shit, I would need anger counseling.

It can be frustrating at times. The person who walked in last week wanting an appointment has not waled in for the appointment I gave her for 11:embarrassed:0 today. On the other hand, many people do come in, and I am able to help them make their lives better; that makes it all worthwhile. I just need to vent now and then.

Vent away kind sir! Doing a service that helps people get on track with their lives can be difficult when the train has jumped the rails.

This is no-show day. The 9:embarrassed:0 was late, but so far the 10, 11, 12, and 1:embarrassed:0 appointments have not shown. To make it worse, the agreement with their insurance (Mass Health) bars us from billing them for no-shows. Oh well.

So at 2:30 I get a call from someone wanting to know if he could come "right now" for an anger assessment. Since I have a 3:embarrassed:0, I said, not now, but I can at 4:embarrassed:0. He seemed rather put off by that; "I can't do 4:embarrassed:0." So I suggested 2:embarrassed:0 tomorrow; can't do it. Did he really think I'm just sitting around waiting to assess on demand?

Probably. Gary, how about inappropriate sense of entitlement therapy?

I like the folks who call for an anger or drug assessment and want the same day. I'll say, gee I can't today, but I can tomorrow. They reply, I have court tomorrow and I have to have it done. When did they tell you that? oh. six months ago? Sorry. This happens two or three times a year.

I went to an Anger Management therapist a couple of year ago and he really gave me the tools to enjoy life.I couldnt imagine no showing one of those appointments(mine was not court ordered)
