steepest street/road you've driven on?

I been on some steep ones in Colorado and New mexico, non pavement with mud but probably the steepest is a 4wd trail in the Santa Rita mountains southeast of Tucson. it's just ba little side trail and on the way back up yer looking at the sky most of the time and it's maybe 1 mile long with some slight turns and slightly rocky, when dry it still necessitates 4wd LOW and 1st gear even with teh MIGHTY Jeep 4.0 straight 6 !!!!!11! typical southwestern terrain not found in the Cornbelt cop0

Shut the fuck up, DdBob.

this one is in the Allegheny National Forest area, very near the camp. it's a doozy in the winter.

There ARE a bunch in Frisco. Since I live in the South Bay, I've driven most of 'em (http://www.7x7.com/the-real-top-10-list-of-steepest-streets-in-san-francisco-1786501295.html) over the past 28 years, and I can tell you one thing: If you drive (as I do) a car with manual transmission, some asswipe invariably pulls right up on your ass when you are at a stop sign or stoplight at one of these grades, and all you can see in front of your hood is blue sky...
I learned to drive in San Francisco in a '69 VW bug. The trick I learned (which you likely know) is to grab the e-brake and ride the clutch while letting out the e-brake. I also drove a motorcycle there, and you can do the same thing with the rear brake (or front if you're really handy).

The driveway of a house we rented in St. John. I forget what the grade was but the little jeep we rented barely fit around the switch backs. It was crazy. Especially at night.

And some off road treks in Wyoming where I basically went sledding down some hill sides in a suburban

Even through town in St. John there are some tough streets to drive through. Some of the private driveways though, I don't even know how people navigate them.

probably a road in Greece that went over the mountains n the Peloponnese. white knuckle driving - don't look down, or anywhere off the road for that matter.

I'm not really sure. A lot of roads where I grew up in NH have really steep parts, but none of the steep parts are super long. Probably the craziest I went down was a road into a valley in Hawaii that required 4wd and voided your rental car insurance coverage. It was maybe a 25-30 percent grade for miles, and it was one lane narrow.

Back in Johnstown we had a street named Peach avenue in my neighbourhood that had to be close to 30% on the upper block. We used it for two tests,
1) Some sort of passage into manhood ritual when you could finally get the whole way to the top on a dirt bike without stopping.
2) Finding out how good you our your vehicle were driving up a snow covered street. Nobody was stupid enough to park a car on it.
