Achtung! Sooooooooooo any of you guys interested in the international sawker cup?

True, but one play away from winning 2 games. Not bad for a team that had no chance of getting out of the group.

To me, they are better than people gave them credit for but are not playing very well so far at the WC. I dont watch them a lot but Bradley in particular has been pretty sloppy. Giving a lot of balls away what arent even forced. Just weak passes. If he had played better, US could have conceivably won the group of death.

Bradley is reason Portugal got that last minute goal to get the tie. He basically fumbled the ball on the Portugal side of the field and let Renaldo run away with it and set up the cross.

US' big problem is the misplaced passes in midfield and that you haven't got a good striker - Dempsey is not a striker although he's capable of doing a job in that position.
Altidore is dreadful btw, built like a skyscraper but a terrible finisher.
Quite surprised by your defence actually, as that was supposed to be your weak link (with only MLS players). Very impressed by Fabian Johnson, to be honest.
I will assume that everything you just said is correct and pretend like I already knew it.

Actually, we DO have a good striker, the only native American to ever represent the red, white and blue at the WC:

Not a bad player at all, but not quite up there with the best is he

Being good in MLS doesn't quite cut it really. Altidore is a great example - outside of MLS the only league he's done well in is the Dutch.
In the Premier League he's been found out on two occasions, both with Hull and Sunderland. Too slow, and not a good enough finisher when the pace of the game picks up. There's something about being accustomed to playing against great teams, you can tell Dempsey can handle it, although he's really a midfielder.
Export a few youngsters to England, Spain and Germany for development and you'll reap very nice benefits in a few years.

Not exactly as expected but close. Now at least I won't hear the sport announcers taking about the Group of Death...there were probably 3 of them Group B and D could easily be considered GoD

The US doesn't appear to have a difficult path to the round of 8 but everyone left is going to be a challenge. But I'd rather face Belgium/Algeria over Brazil (poor Chile)

Brazil hasn't looked all that formidible this time around actually... not that I envy Chile having to play them.

I haven't seen Belgium play much but I think the USA squad will need to play at a higher level to beat them.

Belgium has been quite good defensively and struggled with scoring goals. Could be a very even match.
They have several top class players, but doesn't really function as a unit imo.

Well my opinion of Belgium is slightly higher given that they played the entire 2nd half with 10 and still managed to score and win...granted it was against South Korea but still that's pretty impressive I think. And they rested a couple of guys

The US will have to play very well I think but they can do it

There's a good summary of them a few posts back.

From what I've seen, good but not as scary as the Dutch side. Mexico is going to have their work cut out for them... that could be an exciting one.

The Belgians came into the tournament with a lot of expectation because they have a lot of very good young players. They haven't quite lived up to expectation but have still won all their games. If they start firing on all cylinders they could still be a force, hopefully for the US they'll leave it too late.

+1 He blew it at midfield.

We're not the only ones that think so. Fox Sports called him out.

OK, now we can forget about it, but I hope Bradley picks up his game, or maybe should do like Wynalda suggests and take the "r" out of his name. :)

Well while we are wallowing in grief, both of the Portugal goals in that game were gifts. The early one was an even more obvious blunder by a USA defender (I forget which one).
