Question: Sometimes I just want to punch someone in the face

So, there's a guitar repair shop nearby that does amazing work. I've been bringing all of my gear there for at least 20 years for setups, repair etc. they repair amp also.
Yesterday I went there to drop off my Les Paul t have a new nut installed.
A few weeks ago I sold an item on reverb.com in which the buyer was not happy with his purchase and wanted a refund. Long story short, he opened a PayPal case against me and won. He returned the item to me but it was damaged. So I opened a counter claim with PayPal. PayPal contacted me asking me to provide documentation by a professional shop that the item was damaged and could not be repaired etc.
So while at this shop I told one of the owners the story and asked if he would write me something stating such.
The douche bag actually said no...I mean, I've literally spent thousands of dollars in his shop. Probably over 1000 this year alone.
He says: "What if we get in trouble"
Me:"what do you mean? Do you think the PayPal police are gonna come arrest you!"
Get in trouble!!! Go fuck yourself you fucking weenie.

Thanks for listening to me bitch...
Carry on....

Sounds pretty screwed up indeed.

Learning to make my own repairs was the best thing I ever did. Of course that wouldn't help you here. You could use the receipt maybe to prove it was broken? Get the nut replaced and have them write"replace broken nut" on the receipt.

Well, the guitar nut repair wasn't the item.
I sold an in ear monitor system and the guy returned it with the earbuds broken.
I went to a different pro audio shop and that guy ended up writing me out something.
That shop is friendly with the first place I went to and he said "I don't know why they wouldn't do this for you"...

I recently bought a bias probe and have learned o bias my amps so that's at least my first step to repairing my own stuff.

To me this shines a light on the shady nature of all the "Guitar Repair, Vintage Appraisal, etc" shops. I avoid them if possible.

Funny thing is, all the guys that work there are cool as hell...its just this one co-owner. He'a just a smug SOB. There's just something i never liked about him.
