Duller than cardboard
I've played these before at a dealer in Nashville and they're killer guitars. For $800 you're getting a handmade carved top crafted in USA LP-killer. I've already bought three guitars this year, otherwise I'd snatch it up ASAP.

I actually like that a lot. I always flip through eBay looking for the double cutaway Les Pauls and this fits the bill. I wonder if they offer any other finishes on this?

I think Gadow isn't in business any more but I could be wrong. Most of what they sold was some really oddball looking Strat and Tele things, but they also offered these set-neck LP Special looking things. When you do find one they're usually ~$1,200 or more and they're usually solid colors. This is a freakin' steal at $800: Bound, carved top, set neck, handmade in the USA by a cottage builder... sheeeeeeeeeeeeet. If I was in the market for something even vaguely similar I wouldn't have to think twice.

I could drive up there and give it a test drive, if anyone was truly interested.

It doesn't matter who's name is on the headstock, sometimes there's a reason a guitar is being sold. For example: Elderly's had an old '80s Robin guitar for sale a couple of years ago. The bridge was waaay off, the high-E string wasn't even on the fretboard after the 15th fret or so, it was so off. And Robin was well known for building a killer, quality guitar back then. You just never know...

Jbird brings up a valid point. This exact same guitar was offered through Elderly on consignment a year or two ago starting at $1,400 and eventually dropping to $1k. My bet is there was just no market for a guitar no one's heard of, but on the other hand it might be a clunker. I'd be shocked if that was the case though.

That looks like a great deal alright. I I had a ton of room and $800, would. But I have neither, plus I already own a Les Paul Doublecut, which is basically what this is, albeit a nicer handbuilt version.
