Some old live Rush footage

shoeless

Riffin'
This popped up for me this morning, so I thought I'd share it with any Rush fans out there. Just started watching it, but based on what I've heard so far, I'm guessing the earliest live footage was Fly By Night era ('75 ish). Pretty sure this was someones VHS Rush collection that got uploaded. It'll be interesting to see how long it stays up before it gets taken down for copyright issues.

Edit: Just got to the Farwell To Kings era concert. Quite a difference from the earlier stuff...much more polished.

I like this from the short lived John Rutsey era.

John was with them for 6 years. His brother came up with the name RUSH.

Jeff Jones was their first singer/bass player. He left the band after their first concert. Geddy Lee replaced him.

I found it interesting that John was tasked with writing the lyrics for their first album, but he hated what he’d written, and he tore up the lyric sheets. So, Geddy hastily wrote lyrics for that very first album.

He was only their 1st album though. They let him go so he wouldn't die. He was diabetic and drinking too hard on tour. For a while, he got into competitive body building after Rush.
I wonder if he had any lyrics written for the Working Man riff?

No 'an ice cold/a nice cold' beer controversy?
