So I got the Rockman pedal...

Too Controversial To Have An Athleisure Line
It's definitely fun. The clean sound is just that perfect '80s thing. Turn the chorus on and grab a Strat, and you're good to go on everything from Billie Jean to Hysteria to I Keep Forgettin'. The drive sounds, however, are really niche. They're so mid focused that, unless you do some serious EQing, all you can play is Boston covers. Like, seriously, every time I plug this thing in I just immediately start the riff to Cool the Engines off Third Stage. Everything else just sounds wrong. Not sure I'm gonna keep it.

Does it do the lead sounds for Cool the Engines?

In one of the demos someone started playing Waiting For 22 by Queensryche on the chorused clean and all of a sudden it was clear how they got that ultra HD clean tone on all of Mindcrime.

It seems like the kind of pedal that would be fun for shits and giggles. Lots of 80's stuff was recorded using a Rockman.

Megadeth used a Rockman to record their first album and songs for other albums (I think it was Rockman > Marshall amp). The Meat Puppets used the Rockman direct to record songs on multiple albums. Mike Campbell used one to record Boys Of Summer with Don Henley. Judas Priest tracked Defenders Of The Faith with Rockman direct, along with Marshall amps mic'd, so a mix of both. Cro Mags album, Best Wishes, was all recorded direct with one. Rumor has it that The Replacements album, Pleased To Meet Me, was recorded using a combination of Rockman direct and into Marshall amps. At this point, most people know that the Def Leppard album, Hysteria, was all recorded direct with a Rockman, but they used it on other songs after that album as well.

Killing is my business was recorded with a Rockman? Holy Cow!

Someone should start a cover band that only plays songs recorded with a Rockman.

I like mine and can work with it by introducing different drives in front of the chain. I do not need the lead channel and in preference, prefer the edge.

I used to gig with Rock Modules live into the PA when I was playing full time. You are right as I also had the rock module eq's to tone shape as necessary so adding an eq either before or after can make a world of difference.
