Seriously, anyone have a sales person they like at Sweetwater?

blah, blah, blah...
No, not kidding at all. A sales manager would be better.

I got screwed by a new sales trainee and the guy training him a while back. I never bothered to settle with them at the time as I had a lot bigger shit going on.

Anyway I purchased a M-Audio "air" computer recording interface. I had to replace a previous 10 year old M-Audio interface and computer. I used ProTools for years. Wanted to keep using it. ProTools was mentioned in the web site. I specifically asked the sales guy if it was true that I needed Windows 10 computer specifically for PT. I was told yes. I go to Micro-Center and buy the fastest Windows 10 machine they sell.

The M-Audio interface shows up. I open the box and find a sheet on top that states big bold letters that M-Audio no longer supports ProTools or the other way around. I tried a couple of the other recording softwares included but just can't catch on faster than my patience and ADD will tolerate. I want ProTools back.

I have a shopping list that is growing quite pricey. I want to see what Sweetwater will be willing to do to help remedy my recording situation before I drop any more money there.

I hope they'll refund that deal. They clearly gave you incorrect information.

Sweetwater is the only on-line retailer with a sales person that calls me regularly. I'm not a huge customer either.

He has been my rep for almost 10 years and I buy quite a lot of gear from Sweetwater. :embarrassed: :helper:

When the PRS SE Piezo was announced, I called him that morning... he not only had one set aside for me by the end of the week (I figured it would be months before they got them), he had THREE of them at the store for me to compare, gave me a nice discount, and I was one of the first in the country to have the Black Doghair finish.

Tell him Anthony Ritchie gave you his contact info and I guarantee you he will take care of you.

Honestly the only time I called my rep with a question about gear I got nothing out of the interaction. Its been so long ago I cant remember the gear or the question. Then I got annoyed with them calling me all the time and I found out the owner was a big religious fundamentalist rich asshole so I havnt bought anything since. I think he subsequently sold his majority interest. Anyhow, theres plenty of other places to buy gear online. Haven't really missed the cheap candy,

I think it helps that Matt is also a musician so he and I have always had good conversations regarding gear and gigging.

Thanks. I’ll call him.

I haven't had to call much but AJ Becerra (x1325) has helped me a number of times either for product, clarity on a purchase and even refunds.

My guy Jay Diehl has done right by me in terms of getting things taken care of and responding to questions. I usually know what I want more or less by the time I check in, but he got my a good deal on my fancy telecaster and checks in regularly but isn’t overbearing

It's been 10 years since I ordered anything from them. I pulled up the last invoice to see: Dave 800-222-4700 ext. 1289
He always did right by me, but I don't think he works there anymore.

Nothing has ever gone wrong with my orders so I’ve never needed to call. Jacob does send me an email if I order something big but I think he’s only called me once this year because he knows that I’m not going to answer anyway.

Why does it feel like somebody's watching me? :embarrassed:
This email showed up this afternoon, the first in months:
Hey, this is Matt at Sweetwater Sound!
Hope all is well! I wanted to introduce myself as your personal point of contact here at Sweetwater…

It feels that way because they ARE watching you!

So far I have a Avid interface with perpetual ProTools license, a Subwoofer for my JBL speakers and the rack mount version of Geddy Lee's sig preamp ordered. Gonna be a front porch hawk for several days.

Ordered from Matt. He is supposed to get back to me on the Telecaster pickup his TeleCaster nut* friend or coworker recommends. I don't have the time to review every pickup. From you guys, my Telecaster nut* friend and his coworkers Tele nut* pick I will buy a set. If I don't like them then fuck it I'll try some others. I'm kind of paralized with indicision.

* I mean no direspect by the term "nut" These people study their telecasters.

I don't want to give you buyers remorse, but why no fireballs, lemon smackers, bit of honeys, and tootsie rolls?

Because I gave Matt a buncha shit about not getting any Laffy Taffy and that I "throw away all the rest of that shit just to get to the Laffy Taffy".

The next couple orders were ALL LAFFY TAFFY. When I was in the store and a girl was ringing me up for some stuff, she saw the note on my account about the Laffy Taffy, and started laughing. :helper:
