Modern Saint
Starve your Fear, Feed your Dream!
I have lived in LA since 1989 and have never gone to the Forum for a concert or any event for that matter until last night. I have gone to Staples however for Clippers and Laker games. Being from Hawaii, our Blaisdell Arena (HIC back when) was the main place where concerts and events were held. With a capacity of 7000+ it was the only arena that I knew of. I have seen concerts at the Blaisdell, Aloha Stadium and the UH Amphitheatre. Well the cherry was broken last night with Loverboy, yes Loverboy from the 80's opening with a 45-50 minute set. Prior them coming on stage, I could only remember 2 songs from them - Turn Me Loose and Working For The Weekend. Back in the 80's I owned the first 2 Loverboy albums and pretty much knew most of the songs. When "The Kid Is Hot Tonight" along with a few others that were performed past memories of fun times returned.
As intermission arrived, I looked around at the audience and realized how many middle aged people were there. Dang it, I knew I got old but but damn, I am old - LMAO!!!
At 76, Sammy can still rock it!!! I have never seen him live outside of videos but this dude puts on a show. So much spunk and energy from the Red Rocker as he strutted the stage with alongside Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham. Rounding it out was Australian multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte who played Keys, Guitar and background vocals.
Sammy and guys played music from Montrose, VH, Sammy Solo, the Waboritas and Chickenfoot. A killer show that lasted around 2.5 hours. Anthony took the lead vocals on Ain't Talkin' About Love and couple others and Sammy played guitar on I Can't Drive 55 and Heavy Metal. It was great to see the Red Rocker play solo on his Red Gibson Explorer. The biggest treat for me was hearing Space Station #5 being played.
Watchin' Joe and listening to Hagar and friends actually put a fire under me to want to practice guitar again. Especially since I had my JS1200 shipped up a few months ago. I can visit Whammy hell once again.
I posted @jrockbridge link here because the irony is his thread is one day before mine. I got to see some of the videos circulating the Best of Both Worlds Tour and was really excited to see last nights concert.

Sammy Hagar Best Of All Worlds Live Concert Video
I saw this posted on TGP and the sound quality is pretty decent through my earbuds. I'm used to these types of recordings having way too much bass but this is more balanced. Of course, the video is shaky. This was recorded at Red Rocks, Morrison, CO from the 17th row. This took place about a...
