I have the box
JHS announced on their youtube channel that Ross pedal sales took a nose dive in 2024. They have 1000 units and this week they’re selli g them for $79. See the video for the day.
Friday, midnight, central standard timeI don’t want to sit through that entire video. I went to the JHS website and all the ROSS pedals show a price of $189. Perhaps, it gets reduced once placed in a cart.
(Edit) They go on sale for $79 Friday at midnight.
I may get a ROSS phaser and/or chorus. I sold an AM Mini Chorus years ago because I was not using it and it was worth money. I only own one cheap analog phaser.
Each has a button on the side that engages a JHS Josh enhancement. Now, I don’t know if they were good or bad back in the day. The only one Josh seems to drool over is the compressor.I havnt watched the video so this is purely my take.
$79 sounds about right for 40 year old tech, I mean its the metal case you're paying for not the circuit.
I mean how much is a Boss Super OD or Distortion these days? Its cool Josh wanted to bring back a classic brand, but they weren't that ubiquitous to start with. Obviously if he wanted them to be successful he needed to hit a much lower price point. But then that would cut into his 3 Series stuff wouldn't it? Times are tight, and premium pricing for nostalgia and a cool box just wasn't gonna fly.
Grab one though if you need it, Im sure they are great examples of classic pedals.
ok. But why would I pay for an enhancement of something that I dont know what it sounded like to begin with? Each has a button on the side that engages a JHS Josh enhancement. Now, I don’t know if they were good or bad back in the day. The only one Josh seems to drool over is the compressor.
The Ross compressor is considered a “classic.” The other ones I’m not sure about. I sort of want to say I remember the flanger being cool too. Each has a button on the side that engages a JHS Josh enhancement. Now, I don’t know if they were good or bad back in the day. It’s just information.ok. But why would I pay for an enhancement of something that I dont know what it sounded like to begin with?
I guess if you are a super fanboy Josh can do no wrong guy maybe. I have a few JHS pedals. Some I like, some I dont care for at all.
I wouldn't buy one at the original price just as an experiment when I have other pedals that do the same function that Im satisfied with.
Like I said, times are tight right now. Im in no way dissing JHS, just giving my theory on why they didnt sell.
$79 is a good deal if theres something you are interested in.
