Gig Report: Rock-A-Wish Foundation at Rinky Dinks Roadhouse

Friday, we played the Rock-A-Wish foundation annual event. They raise money kind of like the Make-A-Wish foundation, but for folks with life limiting illnesses over 18. Now Rinky Dinks Roadhouse is a great old honky tonk way out in the sticks. Pretty much anything goes. They used to have a pig at the bar that would walk around and visit all the patrons. Sometimes he would just plop down beside you for the evening. I've spent plenty a drunken night in there back in the day. Anyway, it was a packed house, wall to wall standing room only. We were the the only band that wasn't a country band, hehe. But, they went crazy over our stuff.

They have a mechanical bull there. You can see it in the background of the last picture. All the cowboys were getting their asses kicked. The women were doing like pornographic urban cowboy rides...lol.

A great night of music for a good cause. :thu: Plus, it's a killer place to play. The whole place is rough-sawn boards and sounds amazing.
