We went to Stockbridge a few years ago and visited the old entrance to Alice's restaurant. A few years before that we visited the church.

First of all RIP Alice.

Second it's boomer story time.

I was at summer camp in 1968 New Hampshire. My councilor Jeff was a long haired hippy type. He brought his guitar and banjo to camp. He was a good player in the folk genera. Jeff used to do a few songs before bedtime for the kids in our cabin. Alice's Restaurant was in his regular rotation. It was one of our favorites.

I still remember all the verses over 50 years later.
