Mojo Request Plumbing Mojo

Everytime I do anything plumbing related it seems to always end up a cluster F#$@. Today was no exception. We have a leaky kitchen faucet but have an older (but mostly unused) replacement but it was from a 3 hole above counter sink and the current is a 1 hole below counter mount sink. So should be no problems I'll swap the parts.

Except I can't reach/undo the nut holding it in place so off to HD for a basin wrench. I get the wrench and with only a few choice words the old faucet is out...now to swap the parts

Except they are locked in place with hard water deposits and I couldn't get them off...so now we need a new faucet. The wife goes out and gets one and drops it off before taking the dog for a walk

Except the feed pipes are different length than the old ones and now I need to go back to HD again for a 20" braided line instead of the 16" I had. I get everything hooked up and no leaks...ya!

Except no water pressure and I have no idea why. Pressure out of the feed line is fine. Now the whole afternoon and evening are shot and I have to go back to the store to replace this faucet which I am guessing might be defective (though I'll double check nothing is stuck in it first) tomorrow

Next time I'll pay a plumber to do this...it may cost a lot more but its worth it....at least I'd get to play guitar while he worked (that would make him work faster so he could get out and avoid the torture)

DIY plumbing jobs would be a lot easier if you could just rip everything out of the wall and drag it to Home Depot to make sure you have all the right doodads to get the job done.

Well one last trip was needed. I isolated the problem to the quick connect. I "tried" talking with customer service but they seem to only be able to ask for my address/email so they could send me installation videos or send me a new part...which I would get in several days ....kind of useless. I could not blow any air passed the quick connect...yes I know I don't output the psi of the water system but I should get something.

So we returned it and the guys at OSH checked the new one and thought it was working correctly. When my wife got back with it I also checked and it was able to pass some air. Installed it and it worked great
:mth:
hurrah for plumbing Mojo...I hope that it lasts until the next time

I have some facility with plumbing repairs, due to a stint working at a hardware store, but for more and more home repair projects, I've taken to hiring it out. I'm working 3-4 jobs, making decent money, no sense in spending my limited free time doing something I'm incompetent at that I don't enjoy.
