I hope he gets some "president-ing time" in between tweets this year.

That's not true/accurate. President Obama has tried throughout his Presidency to find common ground with congressional Republicans.

Selective memory perhaps or just poor memory?

Elections have consequences, and at the end of the day, I won.” – President Obama

He already had the stimulus bill written long before he talked to any "opposition". Also remember he jammed that healthcare bill down every ones throat before any human could possible read it.

If the Dems want some say maybe they should win more elections. They got trounced in federal and statewide elections.

Having a bill and presenting is not the same as ignoring the other side. He, as per the process, presented a bill. The staffs of the Republicans in congress most certainly read it, those members that aren't quick readers or can't be bothered have people that read it and provide a breakdown/summary of what it says/proposes.

Selective memory indeed. Go look at the records in the news and you'll have yours refreshed that President Obama asked Senate and House Republicans for input. After the Senate Republicans stonewalled him and knowing he had the Senate locked up, he asked the House Republicans what concerns they had and what changes they would need to vote for the bill. He made those changes and they still REFUSED to vote for the bill. It was among the first (and certainly the most high profile) in a seemingly unending series of Congressional Republicans refusing to work with President Obama. The level of immobility they've shown against President Obama is unlike anything I've heard or seen in my lifetime.

But let's not let the facts get in the way of good old truthiness.

"truthiness"? that's a good one. lol

I present a quote from the Obama himself that refutes your statement that "throughout" his presidency to find common ground with Republicans. Right from the start he essentially told them (in my translation) "Fuck off. You lost. Tough titties." Admit it, your statement wasn't "true/accurate" It didn't have enough "truthiness".

My guess is after the dems lost control in the midterms, THEN maybe he thought he would have to reach out to republicans with any sincerity.

That's OK, I don't really think you are going to admit your assertion was inaccurate. I do expect you to write a 1,000+ word essay ignoring the actual point of my post.

You realize that both Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan stated that the top priority for Republicans was to block Obama at every turn, right?

Obama care was passed while the Democrats held the Senate. Even though Obama didn't need to reach out to the Republicans to get it passed, he did. The Republicans asked for certain changes which the Democrats made, and they still didn't vote for the bill.

I'n quite aware of all of that. I'm not saying that Obama shouldn't have said what he said. I'm not saying that he and the dems shouldn't have taken advantage of their situation. I'm not saying that he even needed to reach out to the Repubs when they lost their majority.

All I'm saying that you can't say that "President Obama has tried throughout his Presidency to find common ground with congressional Republicans." when one of his first stances was "tough shit. "Win elections." (again my quotes) Unless your definition of "throughout" has changed.

It's hard to find common ground when neither side is trying.

So your assertion is that because Obama said "Tough, I won" after his election that somehow negates his 8 years of reaching out to Republicans?
