So, on my only day off, and against my better judgement, I went to the great Monster Music in Levittown, NY today. Saw the group of used USAs. Pretty cool and sounded great, but the tops of the bodies just feel like they won't stand up to a lot of abuse IMO. Gotta say I like the more modetn ones better.

Wouldn't you know it, Brian says to me - get this - he says "we just got a delivery of some new Reverends today" that he was getting ready to unbox. Strike one.

This first was a new Warhark HH with a Bigsby. Was pretty nice. The next one, though, was not one I expected to care for. Until I saw it and picked it up.

It looks SO cool in person. It's a semi-hollow, so while substantial, is not terribly heavy. The ''soft action'' Bigsby, combined with the locking tuners and roller bridge, make is realllllly smoooooooth (this is coming from ME, mind you). And it sounds wonderful. It is also finished in NITRO

Strike two.

I was also photographed holding it - maybe it'll be on their FB page.

Brian, no less than ten minutes after unwrapping it, made me a deal offer.

I am currently scheming how to swing this. It is either making the road trip back, or it may be on layaway by the time I leave.

Yeah, that's a part of the aesthetic that I don't care for - and I have no use for a kill-toggle, but those are inconsequential.

It's almost awesome. I love Reverends except the body shape always throws me.

It's a pretty sweet guitar. Reeves wanted it to fit more of The Cures vibe. The pewter color was not what was intended so they will be very rare. It will be replace with a metallic black.

I expected them to be somewhat high-output, but was pleasantly surprised that these particular ones seemed like only slightly-hot. Vintagey with a little extra punch, and not harsh at all.
