Why the fuck did anybody think that making a radio that looks like a Vox amp was a winning idea? Is the target market the three elderly Beatles fans who will need a radio if their old cathedral tube radio finally craps out?
I’ve got to have my radio, so I can listen to episodes of Amos ‘n’ Andy.

Every few pages I need to just drop a generic link to SDotD so we can check in on the day/hour...

I'm tempted to buy one of those simply so I can post a picture of it and tag that asshole Mason from Vertex. He cried that Nu-X copied his pedal... As if that guy didn't just buy BBE wahs, goop the PCB, and change the sticker so he could sell them at triple the price.

I recall the video where Mason asked if NuX had copied his pedal. I seem to remember people in the know were saying that the circuits inside were not the same. They only had a similar look on the outside which was Dumble inspired. Furthermore, people said the Vertex Dumble pedal was a clone of some other known circuit.

This all reminds me of the early days of Mason doing videos. He made a video about modifying a Fender amp by clipping off part of the circuit claiming that it would improve the sound. I can’t recall who responded in the comment section, someone known well for tube amps and modifications. They explained that the mod was dangerous and would remove a protection part of the circuit. They also explained that part of the circuit was isolated in such a way that the mod would not change the sound. Lol!

Mason brought “fake it until you make it” to a whole other level. I wish the guy was not still around making his videos and selling his products. He’s certainly not the only snake oil salesman in the industry, but he’s the one I consider the worst.

In his early years, when he was trying to make a name for himself, he posted pics of boards made by other companies, claiming it was his own work. He got caught, of course. Then, he covered with more lies.

Lies, within fraud, within lies, within fraud. Who is the real Mason Marangella? I’m not even sure he knows the answer. Sad.

What drives me insane is that this is so well known but he somehow still has a career... How?

I don’t think it is all that widely known. I think the people that know, REALLY know. My guess is, the group in the know is a very small percentage of the actual gear buying public. A few others have read, or heard, something, but they don’t care enough to dig into it. They probably figure, everyone makes mistakes and deserves forgiveness, a 2nd chance. They don’t understand the depth of the deceptions, the number of opportunities to come clean, and the pattern of covering with partial truths, and blatant lies.

Let’s face it, there are much worse villains in this world. Gear scammers are hardly the worst of the evil.

Yeah, but he's a niche villain in a niche market and that niche market still seems to accept him for some bizarre reason.
