Now that we're into a couple weeks of Corvfefe what have you been creating in the kitchen?

Made cheesesteak wraps with my leftover steak last night. You won't get shit like that in a school cafeteria :embarrassed:

Mrs JBJ bought a book based on cooking british indian restaurant style curry.

It's probably best for bulk / batch cooking and I was a bit unconvinced however:

Lamb bhuna last night was delicious

And I'm currently prepping batches of world beating chicken tikka

I'm craving murgh saagwala so bad. I've tried to make it a couple times and it just can't be short cut. I may go full recipe this weekend.

I got a bread maker for my birthday. So far I’ve only made a loaf of French bread and it came out pretty well. It’s not as fluffy as French bread but it’s worth it if I don’t have to keep setting a timer so I can go back and fuck with the dough three times.

Trying out my xmas pizza stone right now--I've had good results with a hot cookie sheet, so we'll see how much better it is. Will probably do a loaf of bread on it this afternoon, to go along with chicken soup, with a chicken I raised and gutted myself.

I've had a Zojirushi for as long as I can remember (18 years?) and it is still going strong and has blessed me with hundreds of loaves. Haven't used it in about 2 years though as I got back into classical bread making.

Well Mrs JBJ decided she wasn't going to bother reading the introduction of her new recipe book so never bothered diluting the base gravy or tomato paste so instead of a nice smooth creamy chicken tikka masala it was basically chicken in a really rich paste.

That being said, it was still really good so I'll need to try it again properly.

We're doing chicken tikka pizzas out the back tonight with the leftover chicken and paste.

So I totally ignored @MonkeyZero and bought a cheap mixer at the weekend :embarrassed:

2nd attempt at Morton's rolls which are a local speciality. Not nailed it yet but they're pretty good and I think I'll get it down pat in another go or 2.

My neighbour made chicken pakora so we did a swap and I had a roll with the pakora for lunch
Delish.

You cheap bastard. LOL Rolls look great though!

It was actually more a practicality thing .

This ones drive shaft mixes from below through the bowl kind of like a blender with beaters / dough hook so it's a lot shorter than a traditional stand mixer. Even at that it still only just fits in the one bit of space we can put it, a kitchen aid wouldn't have stood a chance.

The rolls were decent but I've not quite nailed it. My gran makes me a mortons roll with tonnes of butter and cheese when I visit on a Friday and it's one of my favourite meals of the week.

Got the bread dough rising and since I had everything out I've made another dough for the rolls using a slightly different recipe. Loaf will be done tonight, rolls tomorrow.

Here's an action shot of one of the first batch rolls with square steak sausage for brunch today.

Mac and cheese with grueyre and red onion.

Accidentally used English instead of dijon mustard so it's got more of a kick than I'd planned but it's still great and plenty left over for lunch tomorrow.
