Not trusting Ebay Japan...

Gorgon90

Harmonic Dive Bomber
I was checking my saved ebay searches and a similar item came up that is pretty much my dream guitar.

It claims to be a Semi-custom order and has a Warmoth stamp on the back of the headstock. I think that means that it would have been built in Yamaha's custom workshop back in the 90s/2000s as they used Warmoth necks on their guitars iirc.

Anyway, I scrolled a bit further and found the same guitar listed 6 times in total by different sellers.

So the question is, are any of these likely to be genuine?

EDIT - found the Reverb listing and it was a bit different - https://reverb.com/au/item/61254443-yamaha-pacifica-pac921-semiorder-translucent-blue-09-25

I'm also pretty sure I saw this guitar on Reverb a few months ago also on sale from Japan so I suspect all 6 of these are ripped off from that sale (which I can't find anymore).

I've seen stuff duplicated like this before and always stayed away but has anyone ever bought from a Japanese ebayer successfully?

That’s a gorgeous guitar.

not sure about Japanese eBay. I bought an Edwards years ago from a Japanese seller and their service was fantastic. However, they were a reputable seller.

This seems a bit suspicious to me

@wok I think the Reverb listing was genuine but I suspect all of these ebay ones are dodgy. It would be sod's law that one is genuine but there's no way to tell. :frown:

I try to avoid eBay period, but from overseas on an expensive guitar I would run for the hills. Stay far away. It's too easy to get ripped off on eBay.
