NO SPOILERS: Ad Astra was a sad, depressing movie that made me weep bitterly into my popcorn tub

This film, has anyone else seen it? Did it haunt your soul like it did mine? Did you find Brad Pitt's performance to be nuanced? Was the cinematography breathtaking to you as it was to me? Did you call your father or your son afterwards, tears welling in your eyes, and confess your deep familial love to them?

I found it thought-provoking and melancholy. A bit slow but not in a bad way, kind of in a 2001 way. It was good to see. My friend I saw it with, he hated it bad. He called it Bad Astra.

Well, some sure are...

I saw it. Didn't make me cry or anything even though I have a very similar relationship to my father that Brad Pitt character had. I even related to the way he compartmentalized his feelings to get the job at hand done.

It came across to me as Apocalypse Now in space. The cinematography was well done. It also presented a plausible idea of what it would be like if space travel and work was as normalized as everything we do now. No matter what frontiers ahead we conquer, we still bring all of our baggage with us for better or worse.

I’d like to see it. Did it make more sense than the black hole movie? forget the name. Matthew McIforgethowtospellithey and Anne Hathaway flick that was fun but stupid.

I will check it out. He was great in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The last movie I cried during had 'The Rock' in it. The Game Plan. My Daughter and Niece started crying. That got me going. It was a decent kids movie.
