So I've been through quite a few guitars since this post, and had picked up a Gretsch Anniversary Penguin. It's a great guitar, sounded and played fantastic and stayed in tune perfectly, I highly recommend getting one if you're looking to get something new. But I had a thought. I would be miserable if something happened to it. I don't want guitars that will never leave the house.
Well then my dog needed medical attention (beagles get back issues and she was having trouble walking due to inflammation in a couple discs pressing on the nerves and making her back legs useless). It was an easy decision to sell the Gretsch then. Especially since I knew any neurological stuff could be very expensive.
After it was determined that she was too old to go through surgery, we decided meds and physical therapy would be wha we would try. So then I had some extra money and could replace the Gretsch.
I wanted something I could play out with, if somehting happens to it, I wouldn't get upset and it would just add character.
I first got an '06 PRS CE22 thinking it would work out fine. Unfortunately it didn't fit in with my other guitars soundwise. Then I decided a Fender Ultra or Elite telecaster would be nice, or another G&L. I couldn't find any of the Fenders locally at the moment, but I saw a G&L Doheney on FB Marketplace. I looked like the one I traded for the EBMM Albert Lee for.
Ended up being the same guitar! The guy traded me straight for the PRS. Very happy to have it back. I'm guessing my Suhr will be getting a well deserved vacation.
By the way, my dog is doing really great considering what was going on.
