Looks pretty interesting. I don't really need another dual hum guitar with a floyd, but I like the configuration and the control layout.

It also comes in Aztek gold which matches the custom made guitar that Vernon tours with.

His personal guitar has more switches and a Synth pickup built in. I would suspect the switches are patch selection for the synth.

He also has this carved top which I suspect is hollow.

My wife bought me one back in '08, after my first BT surgery, because I wasn't allowed pick up anything heavier than a couple of lbs. for 6 weeks. One of the nicer perks of cancer, it's a really lovely electric.

Yeah, I had the same thought. I would want it with a vibrato bridge, but would rather it be a regular PRS-style w/ locking tuners.

The pickguard is really cool and the Vela is the most appealing off-set I've seen from any manufacturer to date.

The standard Vela comes with black or white guards.... that would look pretty sweet with the black guitar and a black guard with the white outline.

Pretty much where I landed too. Replacing the guard would be easier than coming up with $2250 to buy one. Two problems I won't have to solve.
