New! Bob Marley Reggae Backing Track in A

ya-mon

Had a brief discussion with someone on a Facebook guitar group about Fmaj and Fmin barre chords... he was talking about how he and some others found that chord "difficult" ( personally I don't see how that chord is harder than an A barre at the 5th, a G at the 3rd .... unless they have tiny hands and short arms).... but I told him that I often move songs up from E to F for Reggae because it's easier to control the muting for the Chop as a bar chord instead of open strings.

People need to quit being pussies and learn how to play guitar. If they weren't lazy about their hand technique it would be easy. I have a 10 year-old student who has been playing just a few months and he is playing all of "Hey Jude" in barre chords and nearly getting them all clean.

Man. I guess I'm a little grouchy today. But yeah, if people actually applied themselves most of them would be able to play it. The adults who really can't do it are the ones who have broken their wrist, hand or forearm at some point and it didn't heal back the way it came from the factory.

Interestingly enough.. some of the weird ways that I finger chords are due to that two year span when I couldn't play guitar from a hand injury. When I went back and "relearned" how to play guitar, I would play a bar chord with my middle and pinky because I couldn't apply any pressure with my index finger. It ended up strengthening my pinky so I now use it most of the time when chording... If not for a 7th or 9th, I'll toss it up top for an octave.

"B7? That's not a B7... Who the fuck plays an ugly ass B7 like that? What are you doing throwing a 9 on it? That's more like some kind of C#sus2 over B on Acid!" (Channelling the Keyboard player from my band scolding me for not being able to name every chord I play just because I added something "interesting" to it.) :helper:
