I just joined a Beatles tribute band. The drumset at the rehearsal house is a fairly cheap E-kit. It has weird gated samples that make some of the kick figures and tom fills sound quantized. I started laughing out loud a couple of times at how weird that sounded with the Beatles music.

You should have the drummer put a tea towel over the e-kit.
