National Pedal Week!

Dew Knot Humps

Splawnster
It seems like it is for me. A few weeks ago I painted some dear old friends new house and gave them the super friend discount. In addition to what I charged they gave me a Sweetwater gift card. I used that to buy my first Keely product, a Noble Screamer. After an a/b/c session with my TS9 and ODR I decided they could go. Did some rummaging/herding/ thinning and brought this stuff to the music shop earlier to do some horse trading.

In my mind I was hoping to get enough for some kind of corksniffer type fuzz. The trade winds were blowing my today because after perusing about 138 pedals I did the deal straight up for these. About to go see what they do in a minute. I’ll be back in about 8 hours. :)

After spending the last two hours playing through it I can safely say the Hizumitas is the most inspiring fuzz pedal I’ve ever played through, lots of killer tones. I haven’t even turned the Cloven Hoof on yet. I added them to this board which is all analog chewiness. This is by far and away the most boutique stuff I’ve ever had on a board. Plus an off camera Boss GE-7.

Gracias. I can’t stop playing through the Hizumitas, it’s addictive. In my limited experience with boutique pedals they don’t seem to like all amps or guitars. I’ve run this thing with a Strat, a downtuned Les Paul Jr and Les Paul Deluxe through an old Silvertone with a 12” English Celestion Greenback, Princeton with a 10” Eminence Legend and an Orange Tiny Terror with 2x10” Guitar Warehouse Green Berets and the amps are running fairly loud. All combinations sound totally badass. I love this pedal and I rarely say that. It’s got a lot of sounds for Big Muff clone, more gain than any Big Muff I’ve owned, sustain and feedback for days, heavy low end thump and lots of gnarly tones with some guitar volume knob manipulation. Plus it sounds massive with analog uni-vibe, analog chorus, amp vibrato or analog vibrato.

I still haven’t engaged the Cloven Hoof. Maybe I will tomorrow, my hands are staring to hurt. I think I’ve played for over four hours today.
