National Football League 2019

If he's guilty. I would say let the law handle it, but they are not involved. Her asking for two million dollars and not seeking criminal charges against him seems wrong to me.

Not pointing a finger at you, but whenever these discussions come up, I hear amazing levels of disparity between male and female opinions.

It can be very difficult to imagine a different person's reality.

I have no idea if hes guilty or not. The media more or less stated if he paid her two million dollars, nobody would have heard about this incident. How do you feel about that?

If this guy is guilty I agree with what you said should happen to his career.

Not at all. Criminal charges require proof beyond a reasonable doubt, whereas a civil case requires a preponderance of evidence. It makes great sense for her to utilize the avenue that is likely to be less personally intrusive to her, and as a bonus, more likely to generate a positive result. It doesn't seem wrong to me - it seems smart!

Okay. That sounded reasonable. What evidence do you feel they need to have this guy sit? A preponderance?

I cant recall someone being sued for rape without criminal charges being filed.
not mutually exclusive. A civil case does not require a criminal matter. A criminal case does not require a civil case. It does happen.

Here is some information on the civil process in the State of Washington generated by a survivors' group. It is a few years old, but the general considerations would still hold.

I am sad because for 20 years I have not been able to participate in "How shitty is our QB" discussions. :frown:

Don't worry, soon enough Bill will hand over the team to Josh McDaniels then you can jump right back into the discussion.
