One week ago I went to watch my friend's band play as it was his birthday. I have always subbed in with his band and when he asked me a few years back if would finally join his band, I kindly declined. So what does this have to do with an amp? Well the guy who joined the band was playing through a '65 Reissue. Hmmm sounds great!!! So on the break, I went up to talk to the other guitar player (who is also a friend) and he gave me the lowdown of how the reissue sounded really great and can handle the volumes of a band. It also came with a Celestion speaker which I know is not standard as I own an original '66 BF Princeton (non reverb). My friend's is cream with the Blackface and he told me that they also come in Tweed and other colors. Out of curiosity, I looked through Reverb.com and saw many reissue units of which one was local. Hmmm.....Maybe I will make an offer. Didn't bother but irony about is one day later the price dropped to what I was going to offer. Since it was local, I pondered and pondered and started a chat with the owner. Since I was playing a gig this past Friday, I had him come down and we would make the exchange there. Well he came through and I now own a near mint Fender Limited Edition '65 Princeton Reverb RI.
The beautiful part is that I used the amp that night and boy it performed exactly how I wanted it too. Now I have 4 amps to move.
