Dig it! Mia Culpa (Cat is back)

BlackCat

American Greaser
Hey strangers:
Did anyone notice I've been gone?

I had been getting a bit discouraged with my band. Started slacking. Got fired. Got depressed. Took a break from playing. Wasn't ready to talk about it.
Dropped off social media.
Had to move and ended up putting my gear in storage. (Where it still is.)
Can't make loud noise in my new place.
Finally started to emerge from my funk a few months ago.
Got a new guitar to spark my enthusiasm. My idea was to try something completely different than I had been doing.
Hard tail, thin string rock guitar instead of my beloved heavy string Bigsby.
Tried a few silent playing options.
Audio Interface for PC or Linux. -> (Didn't have the patience to climb the learning curve.)
POD -> (Just didn't bond with it.)
WASA AIR -> (Weird but acceptable). That's what I'm using.
Thoughts on taking a long break
I've done it multiple times over my life. In the past I've been amazed at how quickly I regained my previous skill level and started to move forward again.
This time seems a bit different. Could be age related. My fingers feel really stupid. Remember no songs. Easing in with scales and metronome.
Any advice welcome.

Had an unexpected health incident and was hospitalized for two weeks. Realized I had no local support infrastructure. Had to panic book support for taking care of my cats. Have a great relationship with my team at work. They covered for me.
Feel terrific after treatment but I'm now one of those seniors that has to keep track of all the medication they take.

Realized it's time to start re-engaging with the world. Really want to talk. MWGL has always been a great place for that.

Here's my NGD.

It's great to have you back! Navigating life can be a bitch, but cats always land on their feet.
We've rearranged the Wein furniture a bit, but most of the inmates are still here.

Oh, and the obligatory cat shots...

I'm glad to see you back. Mojo on the health issues; I'm going through some myself. Happy to see you getting back to guitar, and I love that SG. Cherry Red is my idea of a cool SG. (You've seen my new cat. .)

Glad to hear you're on the mend and in a better space. Not having a support group is tough but it looks like you're developing one at work so that's nice. My favoriate silent option for guitar is the Spark Go - because it's a good bluetooth speaker so you can even get decent tone out of it without cans at reasonable dB levels and I like being able to download settings from the web and play along with Spotify, etc.

Hope things continue to look up!

Spark Go looks worth a try. Thanks for the kind words.

I picked up a Spark Go just to check it out. I like it but I can't get the bluetooth headphones to work. (Works fine with wired.)
I'm running it throgh a 9th gen iPad. Bluetooth and app both connected. Volume turned up. No sound in the headphones. I've been through the troubleshooting procedures. I reached the step of firmware upgrades on both devices.
Before I do that can you tell me if there's an obvious step I'm missing?

Uh - unless I'm mistaken, the bluetooth on the Go is only for the telephone (app) to the amp - I believe it will only work with a wired headphone. I use mine with a set of those cheap wireless guitar sets so I only have the one cord (headphone) to deal with.

Thanks. That clears is up

I just noticed the other day that our bombay, Nash, has eyes that look EXACTLY like all the "black cat with a knife" memes.

I laughed about it....

.... but then on my way out the door this morning, I scritched Nash on the head, said "See you later Nashy-Nash..." and as I walked by I felt a little paw tap the back of my calf like "I could cut your achilles.... or kill you in your sleep... :helper: "
