Map of the US showing company with largest market cap, each state

Bank of America is biggest in North Carolina. I knew it wasn't going to be Reynolds America or Hanesbrands.

I have never in my life heard of Southern Copper and I've lived here for 45 years

I thought it was interesting that Colorado shows Chipotle Grill? I'm betting there's an awful lot of people in Colorado that are getting the munchies...

" the data is based on market capitalization value, the total dollar value of a company’s available shares, a factor that many investors use to value a company. This particular measure helps investors see one company’s value in relation to another"

So it's based on share value of companies headquartered in the state and doesn't necessarily have a relationship to activity with in that particular state

First, I resented having to scroll through all those pages to get to Massachusetts. Secondly, I was shocked that it was Biogen (whoever they are) and not Dunkin' Donuts. There is damn near a Dunkin' Donuts at every corner around here.

That's a lot of mouse clicks if you live in any state after L.

Or just scroll down and look at the image of the map.

Does anyone else think it's odd that the largest market cap company in Colorado is Chipotle? I guess that recreational marijuana law is really paying off for them.
