Let's discuss oatmeal

so what is your top five oatmeal brands....I mean oatmeal CAN be mind blowing but sadly most people are only used to Quaker shit (which sucks for anything other than meatloaf filler or oatmeal cookies) and even worse is any kind of instant :puke:. I honestly beleive this is what gave the glorious food known as oatmeal a bad name.

also how do you roll with yer oats? I always put a heaping helping tablespoon of RAW honey in...mmmmm mmmmmmm good!

For me it is
Red Tractor australian oats
Coaches oats
Scott's porage
McCann's steel cut
Bob's red mill steel

I like it with a spoonful of honey too. I'd take McCann's by choice, but I'm happy enough with Quaker Oats.

if you can get hold of any of the top three I mentioned you should really give them a try. The flavor and texture , especially Red Tractor and Scotts is truly amazing

Scott's I've eaten hundred of times, I like it. Haven't seen Red Tractor.

They have it on Amazon if you're able to order through them. I've only seen it at the "health" food stores here like Whole Foods.

I eat Quaker Oats. 2:30 in the microwave, two spoons of brown sugar, some cinnamon and milk.

My girl was making it but never let the oatmeal bloom. Basically hot raw oatmeal in water with some flavoring. The whole thing about cooking oatmeal is that it has to bloom. You have to watch it also because it can make a mess.

I used to love steel cut oats for breakfast but I can't eat them any more.
Bobs with some milk, butter, and a pinch of salt.

Quaker instant apple cinnamon. When I was a kid, I’d pick the Apple pieces out and eat them before my mom would put the water in. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve had oatmeal though.

I can get a huge bag of Bob’s red mill at Costco for very little dinero, so that’s what I eat. I add some wheat germ and cook it for a half hour with dried fruit, nuts, and cinnamon.

Oatmeal is my go-to camping breakfast because it’s hearty, lightweight, non perishable, etc. plus you just have to heat up some water, which I would have to do anyway for coffee

Usually go with 2 packets of instant apple cinnamon. Not exactly achievement oatmeal but it always hits the spot.

can’t remember the last time I had it at home tho

Kroger brand minute oats taste fine to me. Of course I always mix in at least a cup of fresh berries for taste.

I think we have quaker right now, but we get [emoji774] Bob's as well. I generally make overnight oats with greek yogurt, almond milk , blueberries, and top it with walnuts.

Raisins and spice is the best oatmeal flavor of all time. I cut a bag of that with some plain oats every morning. Yes, it's Quaker and it's all instant, but I'm groggy as fuck in the morning and that's all I have patience for. Fight me.
