Let’s Baimun

Let’s Get Obtuse!
So a while back I sold my Jazzmaster which was nice but had all of the annoying Jazzmaster issues that had me contemplating hundreds and hundreds of dollars in mods and upgrades to get it into fighting shape. I then took the proceeds and purchased a PRS S2 McCarty 594 because I thought this was gonna be the year I got super into Gibson-adjacent vibes (vs the 900 other failed attempts). Well, I sold the PRS and played a bunch of guitars almost purchased 70 different Strats I would later resell and even annoyed PunkKitty IRL. I dithered until I just up and bought something I’d always kinda wanted and never bought previously.

WHAT DID I BUY, WEINERDOME? Let’s see your wild guesses. Bonus points to whoever guesses the correct color.

I can’t promise I’ll be as entertaining as Baimun is when he posts these “anticipate my purchases” threads, but take what you can get in this economy.

You bought a Reitze Special!!!

i'm going with either a Gretsch or a Ric.
I have owned a Ric—very briefly because it arrived busted and had to return home. Seriously, who ships a guitar where it’s just a loose case rattling around in the box with no packing material.

Oddly, I’ve owned a number of Gretsch adjacent/inspired guitars but never owned a Gretsch, probably because there’s a feel thing with them that isn’t my bag and I’ve never wanted to pony up for the pro-level stuff.

well, you didn't say anything about owning a Tele in you're OP. so i guess that could be on the table.

Mosrite Ventures ??

A 1956 2 P90 Goldtop Gibson Les Paul?
I do think Goldtops are rad and considered one when I ultimately got my fancy tele.

So far you’re the closest in terms of identifying the pickup configuration and the general historical timeframe inspiring this guitar.
