Hot or Not? John Mayer Strat, I mean PRS

On one hand I’m disappointed that PRS stooped to making a strat copy. Then I remembered that PRS went to the supreme court to make Les Paul style guitars. So I guess it’s only surprising that it took so long for PRS to get around to making strat copies.

They made a really cool start like guitar with triple pickups of their own design and a maple neck/board. I can’t remember the model name but I really wanted one when they came out.

The made several Strat-o-likes over the years, but the only one I can think of with a maple board is the 503...

I forget: is the standard PRS body based on a 1970s Ibanez?

It's a Les Paul Junior with Strat curves and a carved top. The closest thing Ibanez had at the time was the Musician, which is similar, but doesn't have the carved top so it feels different.
