It's almost Conference Season

This year is less demanding than last year. I sat out the NCAD Conference in August. On Friday Sept. 11, I will leave school after my 12:30 class and drive to Cape Cod for the Cape Cod Symposium on Addictive Disorders, better known as CCSAD. Our professional association always has a table there, and we have a meeting there as well. The meeting is scheduled for Friday at 4:embarrassed:0, so I need to hustle that day. The conference ends on Sunday. On October 9th I will drive to the NAADAC Conference in Washington DC, which is actually in Bethesda. I am doing a poster presentation there, plus I have to attend the all-day board meeting there as well. I will also probably do a book signing there. That conference runs through the 13th, so my students will have to suffer with a couple of cancelled classes.

I have presentation proposals in for all three conferences next year, so we'll see what happens.

Shouldn't these be in Vegas? Then y'all could observe the behaviors first-hand. Right in the belly of the beast.

Yep. Last week of October. Sales conference in Vegas. *sigh*

I'd rather they just spend the money on hiring new customer facing employees.

There are several gambling addiction conferences held in Las Vegas. The Cape Cod conference is always in Hyannis, and NCAD seems to like St. Louis. NAADAC has their conference in a different place each year. So far I have been to Overland Park Kansas, Indianapolis Indiana, and Seattle Washington.

My wife got back from Oxford on Saturday, ran a load of laundry and packed for Lisbon, where she is now. In other news, I hate conference season.

I just filled out my registration form.
I had to resist having way too much fin with this question:

"If you were to win an award, how would you like your name engraved on your trophy?"

First thought: "Inigo Montoya"

Second thought: Engrave it in cheese.
