Hot or Not? Italia Mondial Classic

Probably not up many people's alleys but I like the looks. It has a piezo in addition to the humbuckers and you can split the signal to two amps or to whatever recording interface you like. Andy from PGS plays "Just" by Radiohead and it's pretty neat. 2:26 if you are interested.

They certainly captured that crazy 60's-70's Italian guitar vibe. I think it is hideously ugly, but that is kind of the point on this kind of thing. If it sounded good, I would rock it. I'm not sure I would buy one without a good return policy, as I have no idea what a acousti-glass top on agathis sounds like, and if it is a good thing.

Also, they really should have put some crazy ass pickup covers on those humbuckers to add to the vibe.

I tried one of those out a couple of years ago. I really wanted to like it (Italias look cool in a kitschy way), but I didn't like the neck, and while it sounded OK clean, it sounded kind of crappy for high gain tones (kind of muddly lower mid rangey tones).

I like it. I wouldn't buy it because I'm a total traditionalist. I really think it's great that there are "outside the box" companies out there. The world doesn't need another company building a Strat or Lester. Who knows, one day they may build something totally off the wall I can't live without.
