I swear, I've seen one twice now.
Coming home from work back in March, snowy out but light (7
0am+) a fox was going to run out in front of my car, but he saw my car, sat his butt down at the side of the road, and watched my car go by.
Definitely a fox, and not a dog or a coyote. I thought his pelt looked multi-colored, but just put it down to maybe a gray fox being a bit mangy from a long winter or some such.
Anywho, I just saw him again last night, almost in the same spot.
Nighttime, and I saw eyes dart across the road about 50 yards in front of me or so. I slowed down, not wanting to run over a coon or possum, and this same fox darts back across the road right in front of me. I swear, he's a calico fox. White/gray/reddish-orange all in a calico-like patchwork pelt.
I need to get a photo of him, but I never carry my camera, and I'm sure he wouldnt sit still long enough anyways.
What do you guys think? A red fox/gray fox crossbreed?
