Is it ok to put a tube combo amp on an amp stand?

forgive me for asking what is probably a stupid question, but will it hurt my tube combo amp to be placed on an amp stand such as this for gigs? I have always used 4x12's in the past, and don;t want to take anu chances on the tubes getting damaged from being tilted. thanx!

What kind of damage are you thinking of? I did this for years with no problems.
I was concerned tilting the amp could be bad for the tubes( i have ZERO experience with combo amps) and I'dd much rather ask a stupid question than do a stupid action.
thanx to all of the replies!

The only minor thing it does is not let the heat escape as well, but I don't know if it matters. I've used stands before with no problems. You probably will notice that it thins the amps tone out.

This is the real issue, or possible issue.

Excessive heat kills electronics. Combo amps with the tubes under the chassis are open back for a reason. The ones that aren't usually have fans in them (I.e. peavey). The ones that don't have fans usually have heat problems (I.e. some crates and there is an earlier line of Marshall's with overheating tube issues).

Tilting a combo amp might cause more heat build-up in the front, under the chassis. Whether or not this is a problem is situation dependent - it probably isn't, but it could be. If it's a concern, you can mitigate this with a small fan. It doesn't have to be blasting wind at the amp or tubes. Just providing a small amount of air movement makes a huge difference.

No problem.

Sure it takes some getting used to.

LoL - I would go as far as saying you figured out a way to fix the heat issue with the palomino! Very cool (ha ha).
