Jake E Lee is a great player. However, that RDC song is boring.

I’m actually ok with the video. Budgets for videos are very low these days and cigarettes are cheap. As for people ignoring the band, happens all the time. Maybe, a bit too realistic for a video? At least, it’s an authentic choice.

That’s pretty close to the discussion my buddy and I had about the vid. We’ve both played many of those places but over the past 10 years they’ve gotten more rare to the point where when you walk into a place that still allows smoking it hits you in the face like “oh… okay… we are in this venue today”.

Generally, these are the places I am extra vigilant that a fight will possibly break out on the dance floor or at the pool tables.

Some cities have outlawed smoking indoors in public spaces. Yet, a significant number of bar patrons smoke. A workaround is outdoor patio areas. Many of the patios get winter tent structures and space heaters so that smokers have a warm place to gather.

I can smell it. I would avoid that bar. I don't know anyone hooked on tobacco that started as an adult.
