at what point does it cease to be a fanny pack if it's not in the area of your fanny? last time I checked most peoples fannies are below the waist. I mean if yer gonna wear it at chest level why not just get a messenger bag or a purse?

I mean I guess if you are at the pitchfork festival it might be ok but in any other circumstance you will just look like you are trying to hard , no

Here are two examples below and one is wrong

Is it ever ok to wear a fanny pack, period? no
yes , yes it is...DdBob owns one of these in the mustard yellow color butt (see what i did) he only wears it hiking so he can store his cell phone, keys, weed stuff, snack in it and wears it like the lady above for easy access of stuff

In a post-apocalyptic world where you can somehow increase your family's chances of survival by wearing a fanny pack across your chest, yes. Otherwise, no.

For a while there in the UK it was the go to accessory for young reefer and pill fiends at festivals/ the football etc... I thought you would have approved.

You forget….I don’t approve of hipsters :cop:

The only time I wore a fanny pack was when I was taking the Greyhound regularly. Wearing it was a virtual guarantee that no one would try to sit next to you.

I wear cargo shorts AND use a fanny pack at times. Your derision is moot as far as my engineer soul is concerned - they are a reasonable solution to the problem of keeping possessions handy and secure.

I occasionally wore a fanny pack as a kid in the early 80s, but I will go on record that I never once wore it across my chest

I were a tan fishing vest basically as my man purse. I can just unload by taking it off when I come home and throw on when I leave. Holds pens, paper, chapstick, knife, wallet, keys on a spring clip thing, mask, mints, lighter, picks…. … I think that’s it.

In Tourist areas of Europe where you're sure there will be pickpocketing, Yes.

We have one specifically for this reason. Wouldn't wear it otherwise.

Doesnt the term “Fanny” mean something different in the UK versus the US? I.e. lady parts versus butt

does that affect where the Fanny pack is worn in each country?

It's called a bumbag in the UK.

But I've never seen people anywhere wear them with the bag in the back. Definitely doesn't seem like a good arrangement if you're worried about pickpockets.
