Interesting Scott Henderson video on cable length.

Not sure if this really matters for most of us, but it's an interesting vid.

Sorry to be such a long distance, foreign, and totally unaquainted viewer, but that helps me.
There is so much wrong with this video, what is just a pure sales job for a guitar cord.
I'm older, but I feel sorry for this guitarist. His health and attitude look rough, lifestyle rough.
His talk about tone sounds rough, considering he's using a processed sound, not an amp talking.
And his riffs are gruff, shoving some sound in your ear.

Guitar cords are something I've been through a lot since Marshalls first came out.
If you use a longer one, it doesn't accent your mids like this guitarist says.
You might be losing some volume you can't hear, but it softens your tone, not e.q.'ing it.
A little too much L.A. layin'it on.

This man needs to round out his musical experience the reitze way,
plant an amp on his guitar and take it outside for some fresh air and exercise,
with just beer, canoeing down a river strumming away, catching some riffs and ruffies.
That's when he might snag me with one of his cast-off lines.

Doesn't in like 99.9% of arena/stadium groups, the guitar player uses wireless anyways?

I bet you someone will say next that the tone is affected by whch frequency the wireless uses

And the brand of battery that is in the wireless transmitter.......

Hi guys

I've never been able to tell tone differences vs wire-length. Alwayse ended up pulling out the wire cause of the buzz/hum noise - which IS length sensitive. That's why I like my cord to be less than a few inches... lol... I wonder if thats why I get such thick tone .

If i gig'd much I'd prolly want a transmitter in my guitar or at least in the strap.
Too bad that guy didn't switch cords in that video.

My problem is more the signal going down the cable being terrible noise from my playing than the length of cable I use.

How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

Buddy Guy regularly used a cord long enough to let him walk out in the crowd at a stadium, or out on the sidewalk at a club.

Too bad his tone suffered.

I've seen buddy guy play from the mens room at the Hollywood House of Blues. With 2 '59 Bassman reissues on 10 it's hard to tell what is signal loss and what it your tympanic membrane tearing :embarrassed:

When I saw Buddy Guy at Red Rocks his cable was long enough for him to run up off stage and about 1/4 of the way to the top of the amphitheater (with roady following behind grabbing the cord as he returned....). He tone was not the greatest, but he did play loud and furious....
