Ok, so we kinda made this one up but it was yummy...stole the first part of the recipe from an Indian food website http://www.recipezaar.com/Keema-207942 (the Keema recipe):
1 lb ground beef (we used ground turkey)
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger (had to use dried)
2 teaspoons curry powder
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon minced jalapeno pepper (skipped this because of the kids)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 cup chicken broth
3/4 cup frozen baby peas (I hate peas, left these out)
The website suggested we serve it over rice. Instead we made tacos with naan. We had fresh cilantro, chopped cucumbers, a chopped serrano pepper, chopped carrots and sour cream for toppings. The recipe suggeted chutney as a condiment, but I am not familiar with that (although I know what it is now, I looked it up). I would probably use some fresh spinich as a topping in the future as well...
Anyhoo, it was a quick and easy dinner and the kids even liked it.
