I'm turning in my Man Card.

Kerouac

weird musical dildo
I just spent 90 minutes watching a show called Barbecue University with Steven Raichlen and while it was fascinating to watch, every single dish he was making made me  a bit and I even threw up in the back of my mouth when he did a humongous salmon. :(

WTF? I've grown up cooking, worked in kitchens, watch cooking shows all the time and am always trying out new recipes, but this was just the most unappealing food I think I've ever seen. I mean, I love duck, but this was just terrible looking. :(

Why is open flame any worse than any other type of cooking?

I didnt see the show, so i guess i really dont get it.

Was it just crap food?

The problem is not the flame; grilled food taste good. It´s the junk food image grilling has got, and the over-eating and obesity tendencies to which it often is connected - and which I guess the OP was talking about.
