WTF: I'm too old for this.

Gary Blanchard

beloved, local musician
A few months ago, I agreed to have a Professor Sorghum gig at the local Uno's Pizza place. It was to be from 6:30 to 9:30. Yesterday I learned that the new manager decided all performances will be 8:embarrassed:0 PM to 11:embarrassed:0 PM. I will not cancel this late in the game, but I would never sign up for those hours. It pays okay, but that is past my bedtime. :old:

I don't know if I'd really want to do a 3 hour solo show at any time of night, but earlier would be better.

Maybe some of those Ynwie vitamins will sort you out?
I think you chop them up and snort them.

When that happens you just have to recalibrate your inner clock and pre-gig rituals, take the stage at the new time and rock the nuts off everybody in the room (pizzeria).

If the new hours are too much, you should speak with the new manager about it. Maybe he or she will let you have the hours you agreed upon.

Also, is that Numero Uno Pizzeria? I used to deliver pies for them back in the day. It's almost like we're co-workers

If you do want to try and stick to the original time slot and you know your peeps are more likely to show up then, that’s more money for them and how I’d approach it with the manager.

In my day, we would have to walk through a foot of snow, uphill, both ways for our gigs. :helper:
I recall those days. I had to carve my first few guitars from a tree using only a butter knife.

I built my first electric guitar amp out of an old Victrola. I crafted my first guitar cable from a downed power line.
