I'm going to India in February

Horny bag of electric meat
Got a great deal on a flight from Chicago to Mumbai ($708 including taxes). I'm going with an Indian friend whose family has a house there, so I have a place to stay. I'm more excited about this than my Germany trip next month. I've been to Europe several times, but I've never been to Asia.

I absolutely loved India. It's fascinating, it's beautiful, it's horrifying, and generally all at the same time and it's all turned up to 11. I can't wait to go back.

Try to get to Agra and Veranasi.

Mumbai is great! Check out the Elephanta Caves, they’re worth the boat ride. Also, be prepared to spend time sitting in crazy traffic. The traffic is so bad that they made fun of it in one of the Mission: Impossible movies.

And the Chor Bazar is fun.

Should we have a pool on how much weight you lose? When I was running a research program at Stanford many of the folks we sent over there came back pretty emaciated from "Delhi Belly"...

I have been fascinated by India ever since I first read a biography of Gandhi in 1961. Hopefully you will have a chance to see things beyond the city.

Have a great time!

Indians are probably the most attractive people on earth.
I'm playing a show with Miss Universe on Friday night.

The family I'm staying with are strict vegans. In a way, I'm hoping this will force me to move to more of a plant based diet. And frankly, I could stand to lose the weight. Years of being on anti depressants have doubled my weight in the last 15 or so years. So yeah, I may shit my brains out.

When I went my doctor give me a prescription for Cipro.

Indian food is very tasty (imo) even without meat.

There is, or used to be pre-covid anyways, a vegan Indian restaurant in downtown Ann Arbor, MI that I stopped at a few tines on my way to shows in Detroit.
I didnt miss the dishes not having meat in them. It was still tasty :letseat:

If you love Indian vegetarian food get Madhur Jaffrey’s book Vegetarian India. The recipes are fabulous and they’re easy to make.

All three kids have been vegan for a while, youngest still is. I learned long ago to stay away from the pretend meat, it constipates me horribly. Maybe with tons of spice the outcome  would be different.

Don't drink the water.

Seriously though, sounds like a cool trip. Enjoy, and share some photos when you get back!
